Di Manno Designs Giving to Ilya Peckerman's Fund Benefiting Vascultis Foundation

I met the fabulous Pamela Pekerman, accessory and style expert awhile back at a Collective-E event.  We are now both Preneur members and I recently found out Pamela lost her father to Wegener's Granulomatosis disease.  So sad. Wegener's is a rare disorder in which the blood vessels become inflamed, making it hard for the blood to flow.  She reached out to Preneur members to see if anyone would want to help donate a percentage off products to the Iyla Peckerman's Fund Benefiting Vasculitis Foundation, a foundation she created to bring awareness, increase education and assist in funding new research for Wegener's.  Moved by her story, I hopped on board.  20% percent of  sales of Di Manno Designs red leather and red patent leather ponytail holders will be going to the Iyla Pekerman Fund.

Preneur SEO blitz at Wix lounge

Attended Prenuer's SEO blitz session at the WIX lounge this week and I have to say it was a refreshing reminder to stay on top of your website's SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Katie Hellmuth Martin and I worked closely together when I first started Di Manno Designs and she taught me a number of tools to use to keep up with increasing SEO, getting ideas to increase it with my website and even taught me how to write a blog post! She is a graphic guru who has done a number of websites through her company, Studio Pixlelated and is extremely knowledgeable and a patient teacher for those of us who are technologically inept (LOL) if any of you are looking for information on this topic!

She taught the class this week and went over key topics to stay on top of your SEO which included:

Check Google Analytics to see what key words your website is attracting.

Google Webmaster, Google Analytics and Stat Counter can help you with this and are free.

Google Adwords and SEOmoz can help with keyword discovery.

Search the "one hit wonders" in your keyword search, usually towards the bottom and may be worthwhile to write a blog post on what is being most searched to link people back to your site.

Titles to blog posts are important in getting traction to the article and site.

Majestic SEO runs a free search on competitor research and what links are working.

Track your work to see what is working.

DD by Di Manno Designs Headbands in Honolua Surf Stores in Kauai, Maui, Kona and Oahu

Who says you can't mix business with pleasure? It worked out fabulously for Di Manno Designs! In April, my family and I celebrated my mom's birthday in Hawaii. One day after brunch we walked into a few stores in this shopping village in Kauai and my sister and her fiance Buddy ended up getting a few things at this boutique called Honolua Surf Co. Cute boutique, loved the look, feel and the merchandise! I envisioned the new DD by Di Manno Designs line in there, started thinking the Gator and Patent collections would be a great fit in the store. After vacation, I reached out to them, sent samples, and as I imagined, they ended up getting the new DD by Di Manno Designs Gator headbands in White, Blue and Green, Black, Brown and Red Patent headbands and the Black Piuma Snakeskin headband!
